Mystical Forest ... Close Encounters – open air psytrance festival

An open air party called The Mystical Forest.. Close Encounters is taking place at a deep forest camping site Věšín (near Příbram) from Friday 29/August to Sunday 31/August. Apart from traditional party activities there're several surprises waiting for you. The dark forest will be transformed to an exceptional spectacle, filled with remains of a “visit”. Many unexplainable and unbelievable things will happen. The inspiration for our gathering comes from the novel  Roadside Picnic (Stalker).  Aliens have visited the Earth, and departed, leaving behind a number of artifacts of their incomprehensibly advanced technology. The places where such artifacts were left behind are areas of great danger, known as "Zones." The Zones are laid out in a pattern which suggests that they resulted from the impact of an influence from space which struck repeatedly from the same direction, striking different places as the Earth rotated on its axis.

You will experience close encounters with special decorations, light and theatrical performances and a trancewarp fireshow. Obscure visual projection, cinema area, paranormal trail through the transformed forest, anti-gravity clothes printing, workshop on black light masks – a collective hallucination. Artist known by the name Alien1 will be in charge..

There will be a 10 kW sound system at the main stage. Black light fluorescent backdrops and installations and projected psychedelic visions of more than 7 of the top central European VJs will enhance the atmosphere at the party place.

Refreshments will be available at 2 bars and a tea room, and a Mithras Temple space bar. You won't miss a chill out area – with Slovak DJs above all.

Several foreign guest will arrive at the mystical forest. The line-up features two live dark projects from Poland – Multi Evil (Jakub “Rotor” Kaminski) and The Psy Cut Fingers - two guys from Gdyňa – Lukasy Szaduro and Rafal Robkowski (Dynamid vs. Xolay Ax). You will hear a Nabi Records representative – DJ Juggler, and DJ Cyberwlf will play for full-on fans. Also DJ Gyrro will be teleported to the area from the Slovak town Nitra .

Location, accommodation, prices

he area is located in the middle of a forest about 3 Kilometers from Věšín village. You can take lodgings in your own tent or in 2 beds rooms or in 4 beds luxury wooden sheds (see the reservation form on this page - valid until Friday 9pm).
Bathrooms and drinkable water will be available for free, and car parking is also taken care of. There is a swimming pool and a volleyball ground at the site, and the surroundings invite to both walking and bike trips.
The price of accommodation in huts is set at 150 CZK (EUR ~6.50) per person per night, the entry is 350 CZK (EUR ~15.30) for whole weekend and 250 CZK (EUR 10.90) for one night.

How to get there

By car

From Příbram take road no.19 towards Plzeň, when you enter Rožmitál pod Třemšínem, turn right at the roundabout and continue towards Plzeň and Věšín. Pass through Věšín towards Spálené poříčí and Plzeň. After approximately 1500 meters take a sharp left turn and after 500 meters you have reached the destination..

From Plzeň take road E49/20 towards České Budějovice, when you pass through Bamousek village turn left to road no.19 towards Příbram. Follow this road until Míšov village and through the forest. After 4500 meters from Míšov turn right, and after 500 meters you are there.

By bus

There are direct buses from Prague to Věšín (Friday at 17.15 and 18.50 from Na knížecí bus terminal, Saturday at 11:00 from Zličín bus terminal). Buses go also from Příbram (Friday 18.17 and 19.52, Saturday 9.05 and 17.00) and from Plzeň (Friday 18.30, Saturday 7.45, 12.50 and 15.30).
There are also buses to Rožmitál pod Třemšínem, from there you can walk some 4.5 km to Věšín (follow the direction to Plzeň).
From Věšín walk the main road towards Plzeň for some 2500 meters, then turn left to the access road to the Věšín camping area, and after 500 meters you are there.

By train

The nearest train station is in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem, about 7 km far from the party area. Not many trains go there, though. From the station head to the centre along the main road, turn right, then go straight at the roundabout (towards Plzeň), after some 4 km you will reach Věšín village and after another 2.5 km through the forest turn left to the Věšín camping site access road. In 500 meters you are there.

Mystical Waves

In 2004, Mystical Waves were founded by Trancedelic Family meber DJ Ondrej Psyla and DJ Flundr. Since 2005, Mystical Waves are Gulliver Rush and Ondrej Psyla. You can hear Mystical Waves at parties in Prague regularly, they also organize open air gathering Mystical Ritual and a season-opener called Spring Adventure. Mystical Waves parties hosted Madnetic.Live (ES), Kali.Live (ES), Irgum Burgum.Live (HU), Phatmatix.Live (FR), Matt Boom (NL), Natan (IT), John Phantasm (UK), Ilija (Macedonia), Cosmo.Live (DK), Bonzo (I), Rahatmahatix (SK), Parkett (Croatia), Shodan (AT), Ish-Ty (RU), Q.E.D (CH), Lucid Sound (HU), Maitreya (HU), Gubo (SK), Dolphin (HU), Luke Porter (Austrálie), and virtually all Czech psy DJs.

At Mystical Waves parties, you can hear the most topical from European psytrance scene. We focus on all psychedelic trance sub-genres, from Full On to Dark Psychedelic. The events are targeted at all senses, you can count on 3D installations, UV-backdrops, projection, good sound and a chill out with a tearoom.

Since 2007 they organize Bio Cross nights in cooperation with Prague Cross Club. Cross Club also hosts Labyrinth of Mind nights, bringing international DJs like Kali, Madnetic and Irgum Burgum.

Multi Evil

Muli Evil project is Jakub “Rotor” Kaminski. He was born in 1982 and really early got fascinated by technology, sci-fi and music. When these three of his interests merged, his passion/concern got even stronger and he started to create his own music.. His first style was breakbeat, followed by a wide scale of electronic music styles. Later he turned to psytrance. His present style can by described as full power dark psychedelic. In 2003 Jakub and his friends founded Digital Disorder – a community of people organizing psytrance parties all over Poland. Multi Evil`s production appears on labels as 5th Element, Dark Life and No Comment Records.

the Psy Cut Fingers

The idea of "Psy cut fingers" was born in 2005 during crazy experimental highs with live synthesis of sound and a combination of two different musical backgrounds and personalities. The guys behind this project are Lukasz Szaduro and Rafal Rabkowski(Dynamid Vs Xolay Ax) from Gdynia. Their first record sessions took place in 2007, creating their first tracks. Both of them are members of Digital Disorder community, organizing parties and promoting psychedelic trance culture in Poland. Their style can be described as a combination of full power and dark psychedelic trance.

CyberWlf

(Nabi Records)

A fan of all that is dark, twisted, and psychedelic. Cyberwlf constantly seeks out the latest and most innovative in dark psychedelic night music, always looking to take his sound to the next level and push new boundaries. From regular party goer turn DJ/Promoter/Organiser/Radio show host, Cyberwlf has been listening to electronic music since the late 80s. Natural progression lead him to discovering Goa-trance and then later on PsyTrance as well. Being a fan of Industrial, Metal, and Alternative music, Dark Psychedelic Trance became an instant love for him, and a passion he has spent many years exploring. Cyberwlf has been an organiser and promoter for both indoor and outdoor Psychedelic Trance parties since 2001. Since 2003 he has organised parties which have maintained a focus on hard and dark psychedelic music, having hosted events featuring the likes of Neuromotor, Hyper Frequencies, Gappeq, and Pondscum. As well as that Cyberwlf has played alongside the likes of Hefty Output. Since 2001 he has also run an Internet-based radio show, PsyKe Out, which has built it's reputation for playing all the very latest and best in dark and twisted psychedelic night music. As a perfectionist at heart, he has constantly built his sets up through years of practise, to bring them to the level which he has gained a reputation for challenging the minds of those on the dancefloor whilst keeping their bodies in constant motion.

Juggler

Pedro Gaspar was born in 1981 in Portugal and began his musical career at the age of sixteen, after two years of house parties, when he started to mix house music. That phase had a short duration and after 1 year he went to his first psychedelic trance party, where he discovered a completely new and fantastic world. So, he changed his musical style and started to play all the weekends in parties around Portugal, starting to represent Portugal on Chaishop.com - he has worked too for other organizations, namely Quark Agency and Psytropic Records, until he was invited to be part of Crystal Matrix (www.crystal-matrix.org); by now, he was added to the rooster of Utopia Records (www.utopia-records.com), where he works like a label DJ. At this time, he has played at major parties and festivals in Europe, like Freedom Festival in Portugal, Green Trippin Camp in Azores Islands, Full Moon Festival in Germany, Heron Festival in Belgium, Aztlan Eqquinocio Festival in Spain, Fullmoon Beach Festival on Netherlands and Gathering of the Tribes Festival in Germany, to name just a few...he has played too several times in parties in Spain, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and of course in Portugal, his country :) To name some names well known in trance scene that he played with, Vibe Tribe, Phanatic, Bizarre Contact, Space Cat, Ananda Shake, Freedom Fighters, GMS, Ultravoice, Audiotec, Gataka, Stereomatic, Protoculture, Astrix, Talamasca, among many others.

Demented

(Basement Records)

He made his first contact with psytrance sometime in 2000. After five years he played at Magic Willage new year's eve party, organized by Solo Production crew. He started organizing parties together with Liquid Art. He founded, together with Flux, his own crew Sonic Boom which organizes a traditional season-opening party. Since April 2008 he works under the German label Basement records as a label DJ and a flyer designer. We will hear mostly morning trance in his set.

Ondrej Psyla

(Mystical Waves)

Ondrej has started organizing parties in 2001, and plays since 2002. As a founding member of Trancedelic Family he organized many parties, presenting the likes of Alizard, Akindo, Edoardo, Horizon, Kajola, PsyBaba, Psycozaika, Tul, Virtuart and Quantum State.
He is a founding member of Mystical Waves crew since 2004. His sets range from 144 to 148 bpm and his favourite style is night twisted full-on and morning melodic psytrance. He also plays in the chill-out with flute player Andy Warhol, playing progressive trance at 125-137 bpm. He has played at major Czech and Slovak parties (burn-the-witches, Taranis, Hill-Top Festival, Mystica, BIOS, Mystical Ritual, Spring Adventure, Chvatimech).
